At Nacel Open Door, we administer the Vocational Scholarship as part of the Department of State's Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) program. The deadline for the 2018-19 CBYX Vocational Scholarship is January 31, 2018.
Our current group of Vocational Scholarship recipients are in the midst of working in various fields and areas throughout Germany. The students have been busy!
Jordi got to work at a 3D printing and design agency in Berlin. You can check out the agency here.
Cara interned at a jewelry shop! She helped with marketing, the store's website and online shop, putting on different jewelry workshops, and also helping host perlenpartys (pearl parties), for folks who like to create their jewelry. She also learned how to repair jewelry and even got to make her own designs!
Isobella learned in the ins and outs of what life is like in a small hospital in Ettenheim earlier this fall, helping chronic pain patients and observing different types of their therapy. She even got to observe some surgeries in the operating room! "I'm lucky I got a view from all those different aspects (of the hospital)," she said. Isobella is now at the German-American Institue in Freiburg, helping in their library and organizing events.
Colton spent his fall as an apprentice in a woodworking shop!
A busy bunch indeed!
