SharkMelon

You have probably seen these at some point on the internet, and today's #MMMonday recipe reflects the highly-sensationalized Shark Week on the Discovery Channel.

So toss some burgers on the grill and carve up a Sharkmelon today for a fun summer treat! For more detailed instructions, head on over to watermelon.org!

NOD

What you need:

  1. Watermelon
  2. Knife
  3. Marker
  4. Grapes (or other round fruit to use for eyes)
  5. Spoon
  6. Toothpicks
  7. (Optional: Other fruits, some type of fish candy)

Directions:

Step 1

Cut off a third of the watermelon so it can sit at an angle and not tip over

Step 2

Use marker to draw guidelines for your cutting (like when carving pumpkins!)

Step 3

Cut out the mouth and teeth. With a knife, cut off the green parts of the rind for the teeth

Step 4

Scoop out watermelon, leaving a few inches along the base (so it doesn't all spill out)

Step 5

Cut up watermelon and stuff into Sharkmelon mouth (garnishing with fish candy)

Step 6

Use rind piece from the mouth cutting as the dorsal fin. Attach with toothpicks

(Optional: Add other fruits to the mix for a nice fruit salad)

FIN!
